Its an expensive business, keeping up with the latest Adobe software...
We always like to start a project with the old favourite timeless combination of pencil and paper. This is great for initial ideas keeping computers away from creativity so that ideas can flourish without worry of polishing rough edges etc... Move on to production though and thats when we couldn't do without our Macs and tens of various applications most of which are produced by Adobe. These days if you want top level creative software then it has to be the 'Tescos of the digital world' - Adobe!
I actually get excited by new software, yeh, probably shouldnt mention that too much but heh, new tools, new techniques, more time saved to go on holiday!
Adobe announced on Monday the new mid cycle update to the creative Suite. I havent seen enough evidence to warrant the £400 upgrade costs yet but what is exciting is the iPad2 and Photoshop integration.
I dont have an iPad. I want one... but until now havent been able to justify its purchase. Next month, though, there will be many new apps enabling various controls of the Photoshop environment from your iPad. Being a screen and touch sensitive pad there are many great ways in which this will be utilised. Use your fingers to paint, mix colours with virtual water, navigate the screen, extend palettes, work with a zoomed in view. Anyone who's used Photoshop will know that more screen equals more better-ness and add bits of screen that you can touch, move, rotate, scale with your fingers and you have yet more reason to shout yippeee I love my iPad2 and I needed to buy it for work...
